Priorities are straight

I forgot to mention that I did find time amidst all the clicking and cropping this weekend to do some shopping. While I was innocently browsing the shoe store with no intention of buying anything (ya right) I spotted my dream shoes. I have been looking for a cute pair of espadrilles and the shopping gods were apparently smiling down on me on Friday because I found these:

I know they are not for everyone...if my sister sees this she will die laughing at them but I LOVE them.

Dragging myself home from my shopping trip with my arms loaded of goodies for Bella and I, I was greeted with 4 packages from the post office. It was like Christmas I tell ya. I have been online shopping during the slow times at work. Bad bad Sharla. I got this purse from Goodmorning Morning (I want one of everything on that site) and this shirt from Lilywear.

I love them both. The purse is very well made. The details all look amazing. The shirt fits like a dream. I would definitely buy from both sites again.

Just thought I would share. Anyone else get anything good this weekend?

So much for a restful weekend...

With the new website almost ready to launch I decided that I wanted to make sure that everything looked really great. I was so frustrated with the way that the Mother of Pearl earrings were turning out that I decided to play around with some photo options. Here is the result:

I was so happy with the results of the earrings that I got all crazy and decided to redo all the necklaces too. What a nightmare. I re-took the pictures 4 times! Oh yes..every single necklace 4 times. Hopefully what I came up with is better than what I had. I think they look better.

So instead of being outside all weekend enjoying the beautiful weather I was inside either taking pictures or in front of my laptop. I am happy with the results so I guess it was worth it. You will be able to see all the fruits of my labor as soon as the site launches.

Yeah!! Delight just wrote a great piece on Sharma Designs. Delight is an online shopping blog that will someday soon be a shopping search engine and directory. In their own words, "We celebrate designers, crafters and entrepreneurs who are using the web to reach new customers as well as established retailers who take great pride in their history of presenting great merchandise."

I spent hours the other night browsing through their great finds. I am an online shopping junkie so I am always looking for new and exciting places to shop.

Delight is run by Lynda who also owns one of my other favorite sites, Hipster Cards

Busy Weekend!!

Wow! We had a great weekend. It was really sunny and warm all weekend. I finally got to see the Star Wars movie. It was so good!! I also worked more on my website and on taking pictures of my new designs.
Here's a sneak peek of the site:

Isn't it great? I cannot wait to get it up and running. Heather has done such a great job!!

And because I can't resist...here is some pics of the little munchkin. She went to her first birthday party this weekend. (I know it looks like it but I promise i do not feed her cake and ice cream - i swear she gets those thighs from her dad and not from me)

I hope you all had a great weekend too!

Monday always comes too soon doesn't it?

Spoke too soon..

Tonight while I was watching the Apprentice and the season finale of ER (very sad to see Carter go) I designed 5 new pairs of earrings and 2 new necklaces. I don't want to give too much away but the earrings had a lot of mother of pearl. They are very summery. I love them so much that I may have to make one of each for myself.

This weekend I will be working on my new site and focusing on designing necklaces for my bold and brassy, dainty diva, and flirty floral store pages. Those sections are a little sparse.

Do you have a favorite Sharma category? Is there something else you would like to see at Sharma Designs? Let me know!!

New and Improved

Not much jewelry designing going on over here. I have been working hard with Lisette Design to get my new site up and running. Heather from Lisette Design is fantastic to work with. I highly recommend her if you need a website designed.

My new site will have a great new shopping cart. You will be able to sort by price as well as by category. It will also show you the new designs as soon as you get to the site. And with one fast click you will be able to see the sale section. You will also be able to create an account if you wish.

The look of the site is adorable too. I can't wait for it to go live. I have no idea how long it will take to finish it, test it etc..I have been staying up till the wee hours uploadig products. I hope to have a few new things available when the site goes live too.

Alright..back to work..

Who needs to sleep?

Did you notice I got the earrings page up finally? There are only a few pairs so far. They have that bohemian kind of feel to them. I have to admit that I am very thrilled with the current Bohemian trend. It is always my look of choice so it's nice when it is "in". I made these for myself and will probably be making these for myself as well. I love them!!

I have also been finishing wedding jewelry. I don't think I will have time to get pictures of the last 2 necklaces up here before the wedding (Saturday) so I will just have to post pics of the girls wearing them (that's more fun anyway). The bride, the bridesmaids and both mothers will be wearing Sharmas. I must remember to bring lots of business cards to the wedding....

I also made a custom piece for someone. Here it is:

Again..it is hard to capture the sparkle in photographs but it is very pretty.

And did you notice the cute title to the left of my blog? I am such a nerd. Like I don't have enough to do without being obsessed with making my blog cuter....

All of this has been done with both baby girl and I being sick. Yes I have major bags under my eyes...I should look nice and half dead in the wedding pictures. Oh well..at least the jewelry will look nice right?

The big white building

It has come to my attention that not everyone knows what See's Candies is. Also known to it's fans (or maybe just me) as the big white building , See's candies has the most delicious chocolates ever. It makes me very sad that some people do not have a See's Candies in their area. Here in Northern California they have one in every mall and many strip malls. The best thing about Sees is that when you go in to buy something (or just look like you might be buying something) you get a free sample.

My absolute favorite is the dark chocolate bordeaux bar. I could seriously eat a box this size in a sitting. Not that I ever would..oh no.
I used to have a co-worker/office mate that would bring in a 2 lb box of soft centered dark chocolate sees every few weeks. Ahh the gold old days.

Now that I have made myself sound like a total pig....

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day. I got a box of See's "from Bella" and a gift certificate to Burke Williams spa from her dad. I am liking this Mother's Day thing!!

Cool E-cards

Did you forget to send mom a mother's day card? (I know you did Carrie) Send her an e-card!! I found a very cool site called Hipster Cards. The have a ton of *non-traditional* e-cards.

They have the normal categories - Happy Birthday, Sorry, Thanks - and some unusual categories too - Let's go and, Strange clowns, Yoga a go go - and they are free to send. You don't even have to sign up for an account.

Here is what I sent my mom.

Check it out and have a Happy Mother's Day!!

Edited to add - Of course you should never send an e-card instead of a real card. Real cards are much much better. An e-card is only for until the real card gets there.

More Custom work

Last night I had the pleasure of designing a jewelry set for a girl's prom. How fun is that? I remember my prom jewelry being very tacky and drowning in rhinestones. Yuck high school...

Anyway, I really appreciate any high schooler who actually wants to be different than the rest of the girls. Her big day is Saturday so I will be sure to get some pictures of the necklace and earrings on her. Her dress is gorgeous and very unique. I think she will look beautiful! I designed her set so that it would look great with the dress and would be something that she could wear again on special occasions.

I just love making custom pieces that help make someone's event even more special and help make the woman feel even more beautiful.

Big Nerd

I am so excited about the new Star Wars movie. I can't wait to see it. I plan to be there opening day.

Have you seen the trailer? If not.. go here and check it out.

See you May 19th!!
