We're Back!

We had a great trip. Alaska really is beautiful minus the mosquitos (I have about 30 bites). I would move there if I wasn't such a wimp in cold weather.

Here are a few pics:

Having fun in Alaska

The best thing about Alaska is that in the summer it stays late forever. Right now it is 11:00pm and it looks like it is about 8:00pm. It's a good thing I don't live here because I would be up all night.

I have lived in California all my life so it is amazing to me to be driving around and have snow covered mountains as a backdrop. It's gorgeous. Another nice thing? All the space! In the Bay Area every square inch is utilizied with houses or mini malls. Here there are trees everywhere! It is really breathtaking.

I think your body must get used to cold weather too because it's been in the 60's and everyone is wearing t-shirts and shorts where bella and I are wearing long sleeves. They think I am crazy but 60 degrees? That's cold!

And what they say about the mosquitos is true. Those suckers are HUGE! and they are everywhere!

My cousin is trying to talk me into moving here. I don't know..no shopping and freezing cold. I love nature and all but I like to shop and I love the sun! I guess i am just a CA girl at heart.

We're off!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Wow! What a busy weekend we had! More necklaces are on the way. I have had a great time with color combinations lately. I love the results. Look for more necklaces in flirty florals and dainty divas soon

There are still a few tweaks that need to be made to the website before I send out an e-mail but if you want an early start on the "We're Live" sale enter coupon code "Sharma Live" for 10% off. All orders will be processed when we get back on the 28th.

So yes, we are leaving for an 8 day trip to Alaska. I can't wait. I need a little vacation. I will still be available by e-mail (They have dsl in the igloos - ha ha) and may post on my blog if I have time.

Hope everyone has a great week!

It's almost here...

Here are some new necklaces. I only had to retake them 2x this time. I found it helps if you read the camera manual. Who knew?

More new stuff

I know I keep swearing that the new site will be up any day now. Well, any day now it should be. We are having some last minute kinks but hopefully this week. If it was up you would see these new earrings:

I took necklace pictures last night but they didn't turn out great so hopefully I will have a chance tomorrow night to re-shoot them. I can't wait to get them all up. If any of you have some color combinations you would like to see let me know. I am always open for suggestions.

In non-Sharma news we had a great weekend. Bella got to see the ocean for the first time. I can't wait until she is old enough to enjoy it.

Hope you all had a great weekend!!

Where does the time go?

I can't believe it has been a week since I last posted! While it may look like nothing is going on at Sharma Designs there is alot going on behind the scenes.

Here are some of the things I have been working on:

1. Putting the finishing touches on the new website
2. Making a ton of new earrings and necklaces. Last night was dainty diva night. I have some great color combinations going on. The necklaces look like candy!
3. I cleaned up the bead room. Bella now has a "bead box" of her very own waiting for her. I can't wait until we can play with beads together. (One day when she is not trying to eat everything in sight) While it was a huge project it was so worth it. Everything is way more organized.
4. I have been working on some "word stuff" with Amanda at Lucky Guppy. That lady is a word genius!!

Is anyone else overwhelmed with the number of birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, weddings, etc this month? (Happy birthday Sarah!) I feel like every time I turn around I am making another birthday present. My birthday is this month too so I guess it's not too bad.....

I am also trying to get everything wrapped up before my trip to ALASKA!! I can't wait. It is not as much a sightseeing trip as a social trip. I have family up there. We did the sightseeing thing when I was young and hopefully we will again when Bella gets a little older. I promise to take pictures..

Well I have got to get some sleep!! My doctor says I drink too much Diet Coke. Bah!

Dancing with the Stars?

Did anyone else happen to catch this new show, Dancing with the Stars last night? And I was afraid I would have nothing interesting to watch while I bead this summer...

The concept is that they take these actors/actresses and pair them with professional ballroom dancers. They train them for 6 weeks and then they compete. They are then judged by an "American Idol like" panel of ballroom dancer judges. Evander Holyfield as a ballroom dancer? How entertaining is that?

For the former New Kids fans...Joey McIntyre is also a contestant. Sadly, he is looking a little smarmy these days girls.

My personal favorite is John O'Hurley aka J Peterman for Seinfeld fans. He can dance a mean cha cha I tell ya.

Seriously....what will they think of next.
